nailing transformation

In exploring the subject of transformation, I searched the internet for definitions and discovered, not surprisingly, that the word transformation is used in many contexts, including mathematics, nature, fiction and computing. And from my own experience as an electrical engineer, I associate the word with the transformation of energy, as effected in a transformer.  Actually the electrical energy thought is quite important and I'll come back to it later.

TECHNIQUE FOR TRANSFORMATION: "talent liberation"

Sometimes we don't see what's staring us in the face. In recent times I've been fascinated with "transformation" and especially practical techniques for transformation. And I missed the most obvious one. Talent liberation is a progressive strategy for talent management that I have been working on since 2002. It is based on the premise that:

organisations reach prime performance when they recognise, value, develop and use the unique talents of all their people in the delivery of their objectives

TECHNIQUE FOR TRANSFORMATION: "transformation hothouse"

This technique is a derivative of Action Learning but can be used with any size of audience.  It is greatly enhanced by the use of skilled facilitators who are happy to deal with and transform energy as it arises in the process.  It is suited to challenges requiring significant transformation and works best where those involved, including the audience, will be inspired by the transformation directly or indirectly.  It can be used with an audience of people involved with the challenge and also with an audience of people from different backgrounds.

TECHNIQUE FOR TRANSFORMATION: "darkness to light"

This is a straightforward and practical tool for transformation which is principally about a shift of focus from negative to positive, or as the title of the tool suggests, from darkness to light.  We'll use an example many will be able to relate to in order to explain the simple steps.

Take stock of the world we live in:  recession; cuts in public service; national, corporate and personal debt; poverty; national and cultural conflict; climate change; tough times for business and families. Whatever your focus, it seems we're ready for a change.
